We moved into our home in August of 2000. The house had all the right appliances, a refrigerator, a microwave, a dishwasher, and a stove.
Over the last 16-years we’ve replaced the refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave, in that order. Today, we said goodbye to the faithful stove.
Over the past decade-and-a-half I estimate that we’ve made over 6,000 meals on the stove top or in the oven. We’ve baked cookies, simmered soups, roasted meats, poached fish, sauteed mushrooms, fried chicken, grilled cheese, steamed asparagus, and so much more.
With the heat of this appliance, we’ve fed our children their breakfasts, lunches and dinner. We’ve hosted intimate dinners and raucous parties and this range has covered both.
With this oven we’ve baked cakes for birthday celebrations. We’ve fried eggs for a brunch. We’ve cooked delicate pancakes. We’ve boiled Easter eggs for coloring.
In short, this wonderful stove has served our family very, very well. And in the process, it has made it possible for our family to enjoy many amazing meals. There were times when we ate like simple folk and times when we ate like kings & queens…all made possible by this Amana Stove. These moments were more than just a menu of meals, they were memories
The glass top was cracked by a falling bowl. The oven no longer rose to the correct temperature. The stove, faithful and true, had lived its life and fed so many but it’s time came to and end. So, today, after more than 16 wonderful years, we said goodbye.
Replaced by a highly ranked Kenmore convection oven, we can only look forward to many, many more meals and many wonderful memories to come.
